This Autumn walk is round Mossy Lea Farm in Glossop. Please keep dogs on lead around sheep.

  1. Start at the Royal Oak Pub on Sheffield Road, Glossop SK13 8QY. Walk up the main road towards the Snake Pass for around 200 meters and just past the quarry site entrance join the footpath (ignore the footpath before the the quarry).
  2. Continue along the wooded footpath that runs parallel with the main road until it rejoins the road further along. Continue up the road for another 100 meters until a track off to the left signposted Mossy Lea Farm.
  3. Take this track and follow to the farm. Just past the farm over a bridge take the path that forks to the left (NOT the path signposted Doctors gate) continue on this path over a stile and through a gate until you come to a wooded bridge that crosses a stream on your left.
  4. Cross the bridge and climb the footpath up to the gate. Once through the gate you have two options
  5. For a longer route option and to see the views climb the hill – take left path up the hill. Continue along this main path that will take you to the top and back down again to the lower path. Then follow the below route
  6. For the shorter less strenuous route option – continue straight on the footpath through the woods until you reach a bowed gnarly tree where the path splits into three.
  7. Take the middle path keeping the wooden fence on you left. Continue down this track until the road.
  8. Turn left and continue to the main road.
  9. Turn left and after 50 meters you will return to the Royal Oak Pub. Dogs are allowed at the pub so enjoy a well earned beverage!
